Bedtime Reading

My bookshelf is full of bead books, but I've become particularly fussy about what books I buy these days. They have to inspire, tempt and push me beyond my usual boundaries and this year has seen two complete stunners emerge from two of the worlds' best beaders (I dare anyone to argue...) - Laura McCabe's Creating Crystal Jewelry with Swarovski and my most recent and happy arrival, Diane Fitzgerald's Shaped Beadwork. If you have pennies to spend, go get both these books now.

I suppose I'm biased - I love dimensional work and I love beading with Swarovski, so these two books would be at the top of my Desert Island Books list hands down.

  1. Arghhh! you got shaped beadwork? I just had an amazon email to tell me its delayed until 4-24th April! I'm sooo jealous, do you mind me asking where you got yours? I've got the Laura McCabe one to & I agree its fantastic.

  2. Hi Sarah - you sound frustrated!?! Mine came from Amazon, but perhaps they've sold out. I know that Stitch n Craft were also offering them for sale so you could try there. I can say it'll be worth the wait! Gill

  3. Oh sorry! I was trying to be funny, I should know better, i'm not very good at it, lol! Not frustrated just desperate at being denied my new treasure! I can't wait to see the book or what you make from it! I'll have to live vicariously until my copy comes!

  4. You were funny Sarah - trust me, I would be equally chomping at the bit if my copy hadn't arrived by now!!! Take a deep breath and think of it as something to look forward to. I won't tease you any more by telling you what's inside it...! :)
